This was a juvenile Indian Palm Squirrel. So cute to see.
It belongs to the family Sciuridae (family of squirrels). Species: Funambulus palmarum.
I had earlier got a comment asking whether it is the same as chipmunks. No, both are different. Indian Palm Squirrels belongs to Funambulus genus, and is mostly seen in South India. Whereas Chipmunk is a broad name for the members of Tamias genus. Anyway both belongs to the family of squirrels (Sciuridae).
Hope you liked.
