Greater Racket Tailed Drongo

Greater Racket Tailed Drongo is a commonly seen bird here and an interesting one due to the different varieties of calls it makes, it is said that the bird makes around 18 types of calls.

Here is one of my best shot of this bird..

Greater Racket Tailed Drongo

They even make a long cat like call - meoow..! Another interesting feature is its long tails with rackets at the tip. The bird has a shiny blue-black color all over the body and in size it is a little bit smaller than the Rufous Treepie. It can be seen throughout the day but is more active during dusk and dawn.

Belongs to the family of Drongos (Dicruridae) and the species name is Dicrurus paradiseus.
