Purple Rumped Sunbird (Male)

Purple Rumped Sunbird is an attractive and very active little bird . Given here are the photos of the male bird, a frequent visitor to our garden flowers. Recently, I had posted about the female bird, hope you had seen that. If not take a look at that and you can see how different the male and female birds are.

Forest Skink of Western Ghats

This creature may be familiar to the people in and around the Western Ghats. It is popular in Kerala by the name 'arana' in Malayalam. But its significance is that it is an endemic species. That is, it is confined to the Western Ghats only.

Clipper Butterfly

Clipper is comparatively a large butterfly, almost similar in size to Blue Mormon, but slightly less than that. I see this frequently as it is a daily visitor on the fire bush in our backyard.
