Chestnut Bob Butterfly

A small yet attractive butterfly commonly found sitting on plant leaves.

It is a skipper butterfly, that is, unlike other bigger butterflies, they are very quick in their movements, like grasshoppers.

Color is that of a chestnut. Edges of the wings are straight, and while sitting they are in the shape of a right angled triangle. Antennae are also straight and pronounced. Lower side of the wings have three white spots. Eyes are dark brownish while legs are dark yellowish in color. On the whole these beautiful little creatures are less than 3 centimeters in length.
Species name: Iambrix salsala
Family: Hesperiidae.
