Dragonflies with red tails are the most beautiful and this is one among them - Asiatic Blood Tail (Male). My last post was also about a dragonfly - Green Dragonfly. This one is also from the same place where I spotted that green one.
These photos were taken when it was perched on a Tulsi plant in front of my house. It was easy to take these snaps as it sat on the same place for a long time.
A multi-colored dragonfly having colors varying from red to blue. This makes it easily noticeable. Maybe this one is the most attractive dragonfly I have seen.
It is a good flier and likes sunny atmosphere to come out .
Tail is blood red colored, thorax is brown with yellow lines, eyes are blue - violet, head is white and blue in color, wings are transparent black, legs are also black. These are the identifications I could notice about this little creature.
Scientific Name :Lathrecista asiatica
Family : Libellulidae
Order :Odonates
Hope you liked this beautiful dragonfly :)
PS: I was not posting for the last two weeks as I was in a confusion regarding changing my domain to a custom domain. Finally, done! You may please note, http://rhythmofnature.blogspot.com is now http://www.rhythmofnature.org. I hope I can be regular in posting and commenting from now onwards.
